Commercial General Liability
Section I - Coverage A: Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability
- covers the monetary amount that the insured becomes legally (not necessarily morally) obligated to pay as damages because of bodily injury or property damage to others
- covers these above damages that are caused by an "occurrence" that takes place in the "coverage territory"
- in a claims-made form, the damages must occur after the "Retroactive Date" and before the end of the policy period;
- covers "Incidental Medical Malpractice"
NOTE: the "Retroactive Date" is the date on a claims-made policy which triggers the beginning period of coverage prior to the effective date; it is the earliest date an injury can occur for coverage to apply.
This coverage does not product liability. Product liability can be added separately.
