It's easy to check.
There have been so many auto recalls lately. Another recall today about Nissan. Also the Takata airbag recalls are growing. About 40 millions vehicles are affected by Recalls. The defective Takata airbags can deploy improperly in the event of a crash, shooting metal fragments into the vehicle occupants. At least 2 people have died from this. GM had a recall with the ignition switch failure that lead to accidents. The defective switches may be inadvertently shut off when jarred, cutting power to the engine and deactivating air bags. This can cause you to be driving and then you lose control of the vehicle because it shuts off. This happened to me once (but not in a GM) and I cannot stop the vehicle with the foot brake and could not turn the steering because the power steering shut off so as you can see it can be dangerous. It is reported that more than 150 fatality claims are under review.
I checked our vehicles and each one of our vehicles in our household had a recall. My own vehicle had a brake recall so I took it into the dealership and they replaced my brakes that day at no charge.
