Do I have automatic coverage when I purchase a new vehicle?
Auto insurance policies provide coverage to newly acquired vehicles for a minimum of 7 days. Some provide up to 20 days of coverage without scheduling your vehicle on the policy.
Some policies state the coverage as : If the vehicle you acquire replaces one shown in the Declarations, it will have the same coverage as the vehicle it replaced. You must notify us of a replacement vehicle
within 20 days only if you wish to add or continue coverage under the Coverage To Your Auto Coverage Section. If the vehicle you acquire is in addition to any shown in the Declarations, it will have
the broadest coverage we now provide for any vehicle shown in the Declarations. If you have liability only on your policy then you will want to schedule your new vehicle on your auto insurance so you
can have physical damage coverage (collision and other than collision coverage) on your new vehicle. Contact your agent to get your new vehicle added.
